Wisteria World

This project came about during the first year of the pandemic while I was in Japan. I had the good fortune to visit a wisteria grove in Nara. An enchanting place where walking among the wisteria blossoms and meandering vines my mind easily wandered into colourful imagined realms. On my return to the UK in the following year I was able to revisit my imaginings by exploring a delightful wisteria tunnel in the grounds of an artist friend’s Sussex home.

Back in my studio at various times since then I was transported away from the pandemic and other concerns to enter the wonderful experience of creative flow. In that emotional state, I experimented with a wide variety of colour palettes and digital techniques in an attempt to realise my imaginings.

I hope you enjoy my realised imaginings, as much as I enjoyed creating them.
